 Food Enzymes

Enzymes are the spark of life. They perform all the work in your body and are the driving force in every biochemical process that takes place in your body. Enzymes activate muscles, stimulate muscles, make your heart beat, keep you breathing and even cause your brain to think. Without enzymes you would die.

There are three distinct enzyme types:
  • Food Enzymes: contained in all raw food
  • Digestive Enzymes: enzymes that digest your food
  • Metabolic enzymes: run all the biochemical processes in your body

We are mainly concerned with food enzymes. Nature has put just the right amount of enzymes in different foods to help the body digest that particular food. If you eat food that is steamed, boiled, broiled, fried, canned, pasteurized or microwaved, then you need food enzymes. Heating food above a certain temperature kills food enzymes and you must therefore replace those lost enzymes so that your body doesn’t have to produce all of the enzymes. If you deplete your enzyme reserves you will begin to have symptoms. These symptoms can vary from person to person and they can vary widely but some of the symptoms of enzyme depletion are: stiffness, soreness, increased weight gain, sugar cravings, constipation, diarrhea, indigestion, gas-bloating, loss of energy and many other symptoms. When these symptoms appear it’s because you have had an enzyme deficiency for years. These symptoms don’t just appear immediately.

So, how do we deal with enzyme deficiency? We have a several different ways but we will start with you filling out a “Symptom Survey” that gives us a very easy painless way to help point us in the right direction and discover which enzymes you might need. Honestly, we usually get a very quick positive response once the test is taken and we get you started on your personal enzyme program. Do you have to take the enzymes forever? The answer is no! The length of time you are required to take the enzymes will depend upon how long you have had the imbalance.
